Local Voices in Women's Health
Join PERIOD@NCState Tuesday, March 13th as we kick off our Local Voices in Women's Health series, with Belinda Lashea. Belinda has over 15 years of experience as a healthcare provider and women's health care activist. Throughout her career she has navigated the intersection between political action and direct patient care in a larger effort to increase access to women's healthcare service here in North Carolina. Belinda’s talk will be jam packed, covering a variety of topics; from her work as a midwife and her role in getting legal recognition for non-nurse midwives, to a discussion on body positivity, all in the larger context of examining both personal and societal beliefs about women's health. We are excited to have Belinda on campus and learn about the work women in our community are doing to reshape the conversation around women's health. The event will be from 7:00 - 8:00 pm in Riddick Hall Room 314.
